As a medical doctor, Indika was particularly interested in general practice in the UK and the decentralisation of the UK primary care health system. Other objectives achieved whilst he has been in Lincoln include gaining experience of systematic reviews and the study of the prehospital care system, in particular comparing emergency ambulance services with the newly introduced pre-hospital care and ambulance service in Sri Lanka.
On 12th May, the CaHRU team met in person and online to hear Indika’s presentation of his experiences in Lincoln and to enjoy lunch together. Indika had been joined in Lincoln by his family for some of his placement and was looking forward to joining them in Sri Lanka again. On his return to Sri Lanka he will continue working as a medical administrator running a provincial hospital in Sri Lanka.
