All our research has had a profound impact on national and international policy: in developing the evidence base, and improving structures, processes and practice in clinical and professional care. Most importantly, our work has ensured that patients and users receive more appropriate care, leading to improvements in quality of life.
Amongst many other influences, we have been able to: increase flu vaccination rates in vulnerable groups; ensure prevention and early intervention are at the centre of government policy; and demonstrate improvements in clinical care for heart attacks and strokes when delivered by paramedics.
